SEO TRADITIONAL APPROACH

Non-technical search engine optimization (SEO) has played an important role in search engine ranking for years. Two most important factors in this are keywords density and backlinks. However, it takes quite a long time for organic search results to reflect the changes on websites. 

Keywords Density

Keywords density is talking about the keywords percentage within the page content. Back in a few years ago, Yahoo allowance was 5% where is Google allowance was 3%. Any keywords with density over this amount are considered spam. However, Google search engine today is very smart, as long as the content is relevant and smooth, slightly over 3% amount will still be accepted. Focusing on single phase keywords are pointless. This kind of words hardly represent your website and not many people search single phase keywords nowadays, so SEO experts normally focus on two-phase keywords like “digital marketing”. 

Backlinks

Backlinks mean other websites have referenced you url in their page. It is the most important aspect in search engine ranking. However, it is non-manipulatable and SEO experts can do nothing about this. The reason behind is that backlinks are divided into quality and non-quality backlinks, and Google only take into account for quality backlinks like New York time, Bloomberg, etc. To ask those websites to reference yours are almost impossible. SEO experts can put up your url on to forums but the effect on search engine ranking is almost negligible. So don’t waste your time on putting up url on non-quality backlinks. 

Image Sizes

Images are render-blocking elements during a page load. In other words, page loading speed is greatly affected by image sizes. If the images are too large, it will take a longer time for the website to complete the loading. However, if the images are too small, the resolution will be affected and reduce the users’ browsing experience. There is only a very little gap in the middle for an optimized image size. When web managers upload an image to the website, they must change the display dimension to make sure the image size is optimized. 

Alt Information

Alt information is an attribute in HTML tag. It is mainly used in search engine non-readable content, especially images. AI is powerful today, but it still can’t extract all information from all images. Alt information is a way to explain whats inside an image to the search engine. So that user searching text on Google, your images will rank higher. 

Website History

Website history is the reputation of your company on the internet. The longer your website has been running, the higher score you have on the aspect. So you may ask if you are buying some second-hand domain, will you immediately get a higher ranking? The answer is no. Google is smart, they index domain time by time. if the previous owner of the website did not update the content in the website ocassionally, this domain would be considered as a dead domain. History will only count when you first update it.
